About our company

We founded Stream Logistics in May 2012 with $5,000 and a kitchen table. Our goal was to build a boutique logistics company able to deliver incredible customer service at a level which was previously unavailable. We wanted the Stream Logistics experience to have a family feeling, based on long-term relationships.

From the beginning, our dominant theme has been quality over quantity. We strive to work with the best of the best. This philosophy is not limited only to our employees and carrier partners, but extends to our clients as well. Many companies lose their personal touch and quality as they scale, but that won't be our story. Our boutique approach is a collection of simple tasks done remarkably well, which adds up to a phenomenal experience. Every new hire is ingrained with these core principles. Service and quality are daily conversation topics. Our conscious focus on maintaining quality is felt by every employee, and more importantly, every client.

History

We founded Stream Logistics in May 2012 with $5,000 and a kitchen table. Our goal was to build a boutique logistics company able to deliver incredible customer service at a level which was previously unavailable. We wanted the Stream Logistics experience to have a family feeling, based on long-term relationships.

For the first year, we worked out of Chad's home. While the setting was casual, including Chad's dog, Tater, occasionally barking in the background, our focus on customer service was extremely professional. We didn't let the distractions of a home-based business impact the customer experience.

Our first hire was Sean Makela, an eager ASU alum with a tireless work ethic. From his first day, he represented Stream Logistics as if it were his own company. Over the past 5 years, he earned promotions into several new roles, including his current position as our Director of Operations. Employees like Sean help shape the Stream Logistics experience; he has helped us create a company that makes a difference in the lives of both its employees and its clients.

In late 2013, we moved into our first office. The more traditional setting allowed us to recruit talented employees and expand our reach as a rapidly growing company. As we continue to expand, we are determined to keep the boutique approach which our clients love.

It is extremely important to us that each employee shares the same passion and desire to elevate the customer service experience. This means hiring quality employees who bring their own sense of individualism and experience to our company. After-all, people, not processes make a company great.

As Chad always reminds each employee, "We don't date our clients, we marry them." We build incredible client relationships, driven by our old-school approach to service. As we evolve as a company, our expectations and standards continue to rise. We stay one step ahead of our competition by taking an energetic and transparent approach. Instead of being reactive to shipment tracking, we proactively track each load multiple times per day. Our clients simply provide some initial details and never have to worry about their shipment again. It's our job to coordinate the pickup, schedule the delivery, supply frequent tracking updates, and follow through until the shipment is delivered. We provide peace of mind.

Partner Carriers

As with any logistics company, establishing a network of quality carrier partners is vital for sustainable growth. Our carrier vetting process is strategically stringent. We only work with the top-tier carriers with a proven record of safe and reliable performance. Our initial vetting process is complemented with an API integration with SaferWatch to continuously monitor carrier safety scores. Each of our partner carriers are expected to share the same service standards that we offer to our customers. After all, our partner carriers are a direct reflection of our company.

We're also committed to leveraging technology to lower costs and increase access to information. We designed a custom operating software, LoadSuite, to manage all of our processes. The LoadSuite client portal enables clients to tender shipments, view tracking information, and manage data. We offer technology when you want it and people when you need them.

On every shipment, we provide accurate tracking updates to ensure you always have the most recent information available. To provide real-time tracking updates during transit, we have integrated with FourKites, a leading GPS-based tracking software company. With this offering, we receive hourly GPS tracking updates so you always know the exact location of your freight.

Quality Carrier Partners
To ensure we are only using quality partner carriers, we meticulously vet every carrier using three reputable carrier monitoring organizations: SaferWatch, Carrier411, and FMCSA. Our standards for safety, compliance, and performance are incredibly strict. After we have onboarded a partner carrier, we continually monitor key metrics through real-time API integration with SaferWatch.
