EMIT Technologies came to us to help them with a large project that had a tight schedule and required all deliveries to be made on time, in sequential order, and with the right load content. EMIT Technologies produces solutions that leverage Material Processing, Fabrication, Coatings, and Mechanical/Electronics to multiple industries. We worked with EMIT to successfully deliver 30 loads of oversized structural steel from Greeley, CO to Sparks, NV in just two weeks.
With the motto of, “Breathe easy,” EMIT Technologies has built a reputation from its expertise and incredibly high-quality products. The company provides a seamless manufacturing process for its customers no matter the project, whether it’s producing state-of-the-art structural steel, world-class energy solutions or engine control systems. They truly are leading the Industry 4.0 revolution with smart manufacturing and exceptional customer care.
As EMIT explains on their website, they “believe someone is always counting on you regardless of your position.” And when we began working with the company, they made it clear they wanted to work with a logistics partner that had that same mentality — keeping things moving for the next person with open lines of communication and on-time deliveries.
For this latest project transporting structural steel, we needed to transport 30 oversized loads from Greenly, CO, to Sparks, NV, in 14 days. Not only was the trip nearly a thousand miles, but we were up against an aggressive construction schedule that required timely, sequential deliveries. In other words, there was no room for error.
“Our project management team knew we had to pick up the steel and deliver it between September 16 and September 30,” says Chad Patton, president of Stream Logistics. “But, the biggest hitch was that there was a specific sequence we needed to stick to so that construction could go forward according to plan. That meant that there was a ton of organization done before the project even started, including attending to the needs and preferences from the shipper, drivers and project managers on site.”
On top of that, these loads were heavy and oversized, so our team had to carefully and expertly coordinate everything from thousand-mile routes to permits, pilot cars and beyond.
It was also paramount that our team was in constant communication with all parties transporting the structural steel. “I think what continually sets Stream Logistics apart isn’t just our careful, expert planning, but the open line of communication we keep with everyone,” Patton says. “This is what allows us to have real-time oversight of the project, as well as to act quickly when needed.”
All of the expert project management and pre-planning paid off in the end. Stream Logistics was able to deliver all 30 loads in the required timeframe so that there were no delays to the job site because of transportation.
As seen in this project with EMIT, working with a logistics specialist like Stream Logistics is the best way to ensure your over-dimensional freight is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. When choosing who should be your logistics partner it is important to choose a reputable provider who has the experience and knowledge to foresee any problems or the results can be catastrophic to your business. Choosing a logistics specialist will ensure your project is done on time and within budget allowing you to focus on your business and what you do best.
